Condensate Management
Motion offers a collection of condensate management solutions, including an assortment of automatic drains and oil water separators. The main purpose of any condensate management system is to clean up the air inside an air compressor and get rid of the condensate. Compressor condensate naturally forms when air is compressed and purified, as little droplets of oil and moisture are removed from the air.
There are multiple types of condensate management systems. One of the most used varieties is the oil-water separator. This system works by separating water in the air from the tool oil that is used to lubricate the parts of the compressor. Other examples of condensate management systems include drain valves and cyclonic separators; the latter function by creating a small vortex of air to clean away any moisture and dust.
